    Empath Gaming Team Update
Posted On: July 15, 2009 By: Kilmer
Hey guys, I know it's been forever since an update was issued, so just wanted to keep everyone up to date with the latest happenings. Currently we are competing in the inaugural season of XPL CoD4. With CAL closing it's doors a few months back the team took a much needed break from competition. We are now back playing in XPL and looking forward to the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 later this year. The forums also got a much needed update, so go check them out and say hey!

    A New Chapter
Posted On: January 15, 2009 By: Kilmer
With the off season and the holidays behind us, a new chapter is being written in the Empath Gaming saga. New and old faces come and go and onward we look to new seasons of CAL-M and CEVO-O. The departure of a few members has opened to the door for the return of some old faces. Look for a couple of new guys showing their faces around soon to round out the roster for the upcoming seasons of play. Hopefully the final roster additions will be completed soon and we can again focus on another fun season of play.

    CAL-Main Playoffs
Posted On: December 1, 2008 By: Kilmer
Here we stand at the end of the CAL-Main regular season and the playoffs just under way. Last night Empath took on the #1 seed Doubletake on mp_strike and mounted a crazy second half comeback that ended up with a 13-10 Empath victory to put us into the semi-finals next week. Meanwhile, with the release of Call of Duty: World at War, we have a dissension among the CoD teams to which game will be played competitively after this season of CoD4 wraps. Some want to return to CoD2, some want to just stay with CoD4, and others want to move on to the new CoD5 installment. While it is still up in the air which game will prevail, we will sit back and wait and see. Look for continued results posted under the Recent Matches section to the left. We'll keep you posted...

    CAL-Main
Posted On: September 20, 2008 By: Kilmer
Another season of CAL is upon us and the Empath crew has once again been promoted to the highest level of play in CAL-Main. This marks the team as now having competed in the highest level of play in all of the Call of Duty series games. With the move up comes along some new faces and some old faces alike. Rejoining the team is Ferox and Zane with the new addition of longtime friend Kennedy. While there is talk of this being the last season of play for CoD4 with the release of CoD5 just around the corner, CAL has decided to form a CoD1 tournament. Empath will also be competing in the upcoming CoD1 tournament, so stay tuned for more updates.

    End of the Season
Posted On: August 4, 2008 By: Kilmer
The season finally came to an end last night with our loss in the playoffs to the favored iO squad. They played a great match and I'm sure will do well through the remainder of the playoffs. With the season coming to a close it ends a great run that the crew of old school players put together to even make the playoffs cut. Despite a slow start to the season, the Empath squad reeled off 3 consecutive wins to close out the season in great fashion. A big thank you goes out to all the guys who contributed throughout the season including unbroken, cutthroat, eleto0l, b1gtuck, slayer, 5thy, and laser. Look for a new and improved lineup next season and thanks again to Mercenary Gaming Servers for providing us with top notch servers throughout many seasons of play!

    CAL Nears the End
Posted On: July 14, 2008 By: Kilmer
With the season of CAL-IM nearing the end, things have been looking up for the Empath crew. What started out as a sluggish start has slowly started to turn back around to a possible playoff birth with a win in our final match of the season. Sitting just outside the bubble, the Empath squad has managed to rally off two straight wins to put them back on track to finish the season with a winning record. A big thank you is in line to everyone that has helped out this season. It's been a great ride playing again with the majority of the old school roster and am glad to see the return of some old faces. Look for Empath returning next season with a couple of new faces and a re-focused attitude.

    Old School
Posted On: May 12, 2008 By: Kilmer
With a number of events happening between now and the end of last season of CAL, CEVO, and the NERV Lan, the old school roster of Empath appears to be reuniting to make a run in CAL-IM. After a disappointing finish at the NERV Lan, some of the members decided to go their separate ways in hopes of finding greener pastures. This ended up opening the door for the return of 2 original members, Unbroken & Cutthroat, and paving the way to the acquisition of Copeland. Combined with 5thy$ent deciding to hang around, we now have a solid core made up of mostly original team members from way back. With the possibility of eleto0L making his infamous return, the roster would then be complete reuniting some of the best players from the original Call of Duty days. Look for the Empath crew playing in CAL-IM this season and trying to get back in the groove.

    NERV Lan and League Play
Posted On: February 18, 2008 By: Kilmer
Lots of new happenings in the CoD4 scene recently. With the announcement of the NERV Lan taking place in Allentown, PA on March 8th, Empath Gaming has signed up to attend the the first major CoD4 Lan taking place in the United States. The Lan quickly filled up its 32 team maximum and even left a few teams on the outside looking in who didn't get their registrations in before the team limit was reached. We are looking forward to a fun weekend in Pennsylvania and hope to have a great showing at the event. The league play continues with CAL & CEVO now fully underway. Our run in the TGL tournament came to and end last night with a rather poor showing on the always tedious citystreets map. We hope to bounce back strong with other league matches taking place later on this week and the NERV Lan just around the corner.

    Call of Duty in 2008
Posted On: January 5, 2008 By: Kilmer
A new year is upon us and Call of Duty 4 is really starting to shape up with all the leagues starting up just around the corner. Empath Gaming has made a commitment to continue it's success in the Call of Duty series with the latest installment and plans to finalize the roster and be a top competitor once again. We look forward to the upcoming seasons of CAL, CEVO, and TGL.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Posted On: November 15, 2007 By: Kilmer
Well it looks like Call of Duty 4 has finally hit the shelves and it is in fact a great game. Only time will tell if it goes on to have a great competitive play life like it's predecessors, but it has all the makings in it to follow suit, if not be better. As most people know, the Empath gang decided to end it's CoD2 career at the WSVG Summer '07 event. While the majority of the core players on the team haven't played anything competitively for some time, CoD4 just may bring the team back into the spotlight. Here's to hoping for another successful Call of Duty series and the reformation of the Empath Gaming crew.

    The Week of WSVG
Posted On: July 2, 2007 By: Kilmer
The week of WSVG has finally come. The starting 5 line up has arrived at DFW and will be bootcamping and relaxing all week leading up to the lan event. With the additions of bigtuck to the WSVG lineup and aroc to the online roster, things are really starting to pick up. If you are attending the Dallas event feel free to contact us and we'll be sure to meet up with you at the Gaylord once the event is underway. We look forward to the competition and meeting those faces behind the computer screens.

    We're Back
Posted On: May 4, 2007 By: Kilmer
Well it has been nearly a year since Empath has competed in any league play, but the time has come to rejoin the competitive ranks. With the announcement of CoD2 being featured as one of the cash games at this summers WSVG tournament, we have decided to come back and compete in CAL in preparation for the lan tournament. We look forward to competing with some old faces and hopefully meeting up with a lot of the community this summer in Dallas.

    Offseason
Posted On: July 24, 2006 By: Kilmer
Well the offseason is here and we are not. After making it to playoffs of the first season of CAL-Main, we decided to take a much needed breather from the game and look forward to regaining our focus once again for the next season of CAL. We will be making some roster adjustments soon, so be on the look out for some new faces.

    Back on Track
Posted On: June 25, 2006 By: Kilmer
With the ups and downs of the latest season of CoD2 CAL-Main, the ups have seemingly returned to us as we look forward to the final week of play after taking our last two matches on Railyard to pull our record back to even. Now standing at 7-7 in the highest level of play that CAL has to offer, with a couple of wins to finish out the season the hopes for a playoff birth may not be out of reach just yet. uF gave us a scare with their teamwork and nades preparation and took our match to overtime. Our latest match, however, was no where near ever being in jeopardy. Starting off on the "hard side" on Railyard, we snagged up an easy 7 rounds on German going into the half and on to the land of ppsh's. Soon after we reached the 11 mark and the old dino boys apparently couldn't even finish the match and all just left in defeat. GG's to all...be sure to check out all the match screenshots on the left hand side!

    CoD2 Teams Rolling
Posted On: May 21, 2006 By: Kilmer
With the addition of the empath? squad to CAL-O this season, Empath has been on a roll as of late in both CAL-O and CAL-M. The Open team is now boasting a 2-1 record after rebounding this week from a tough overtime loss to Parbellum last week on mp_trainstation. The Open team regrouped though and took down DRT by a score of 17-3 in week 3. The Main team is also on a 3 game winning streak after starting off the season on a less than favorable foot. After defeating Kontempt in week 3:2, the Main team is now back to .500 with a record of 3-3. Both teams have represented Empath Gaming well and hope to continue their success through the remainder of their respective divisions.

    CAL-M Underway
Posted On: May 15, 2006 By: Kilmer
The inaugural season of CoD2 CAL-M is well underway now as we are heading in to week 3 with four matches already under our belts. Though Empath received probably the hardest week one schedule in all of CAL, but the gang bounced back with a down to the wire loss to Ploy in the first match of week 2 and finally a win in the second match of the week against fz. Screenshots can be found to the left as always expect for the week 1:2 match against e2 which had some dead rounds and the ss's were too messy to deal with. On that note I'd also like to welcome to the team LaSeR and rocK. Two very solid players that will no doubt help us get back on the right track after a bit of a shaky start in CAL.

    CEVO Comes to an End
Posted On: April 19, 2006 By: Kilmer
With our recent loss in overtime to an unusual Verge squad, our playoff run in CEVO has finally come to a halt. Though disappointed in the close loss, I am proud of our guys for picking it up at the end of the season to make a nice little run to finish up despite varying roster issues. With that said, we've picked up Scenario to hopefully boost a more stable lineup for the upcoming CAL-Main season as well as the next season of CEVO.

    CEVO PlayOffs

Empath Gaming will be kicking off the 1st round of CEVO playoffs this Sunday, April 9th, at 9 EST against Deterrence. Come support the team and follow the scorebot in #empath.

    Empath Invited to CAL-Main
Posted On: March 27, 2006 By: Kilmer
Last night Empath Gaming was officially announced as one of the 32 teams being moved up to the inaugural season of CAL-Main for CoD2. We look forward to the competition that next season will bring and can't wait to get started.

    CEVO Regular Season End
Posted On: March 25, 2006 By: Kilmer
With the end of the CEVO regular season comes another close Empath victory. This time sLgaming took us into a wild double overtime match which featured numerous clutches on both sides. Quite a few actually predicted a very close match between the two of us and that TSN should pick it up as MOTW, but of course they went with the undefeated teams which proved very cast-worthy. We now look forward to the CEVO playoffs rounding out the regular season on a 3 game win streak...GL to all in the upcoming playoffs!

    Rollin Out
Posted On: March 16, 2006 By: Kilmer
Tonight we defeated one of if not the best teams in CoD2, Shockwave. No one predicted Empath to prevail in this Week 7 CEVO match up as we were merely 3-3 coming into the match and Shockwave was sitting atop our division with a spotless 6-0 mark. Tonight all the pieces of the puzzle came together and we pulled off an overtime upset of 16-12 defeating one of the premier teams around right now. Shockwave has always been known for their top of the line skill and sportsmanship and it was great to play a team filled with such great guys. After going on a bit of a slide late in the CAL and CEVO seasons we have appeared to regroup and look to finish strong in CEVO and make playoffs. Scores for every match can be found to your left as always. GG''s to Shockwave and we look forward to finishing out the season on another strong note.

    Great Start for CoD2
Posted On: February 7, 2006 By: Kilmer
With another victory tonight, Empath is now 3-0 in CAL and still waiting to play our first CEVO match. We also placed 3rd in the GameSpot CoD2 Tournament bringing home $250 in prizes from that. With the addition of the infamous GriMsta rejoining the roster for another go around with the family, we are looking to be at the top of our game and hope to continue our win streak into CEVO and the coming weeks of CAL. As always, you can find the latest match result screenshots on the left panel under "Recent Matches." They are usually up just minutes after every match.

    Return of Empath!
Posted On: December 26, 2005 By: Kilmer
With the announcement of CoD2 going to be at the Summer CPL, Empath Gaming will be making a return to the competitive scene. Though still over 6 months away, we have already nailed down a lineup for the Summer CPL event with the following Empath members participating this coming July.

Micah "Kilmer" Hixon
Derek "Unbroken" Hixon
Caleb "Cutthroat" Hixon
Kevin "Boomer" Gass
Adam "Element" Serio
Ryan "5th" Thomason

This is now our final roster, we''re all registered and hope to see a good turn out in July. Come down to the Gaylord resort in Dallas and hang out with the guys, make plans now!

    End of a Run
Posted On: October 10, 2005 By: Kilmer
With it''s ups and downs, CoD has finally come to a close and with that close comes an end to the Empath chapter. We made a great second half of the season run and finished out with a 6-11 record. Empath will in a stage of "between games" at the moment, but will surely make a return to the competitive scene before long. Thanks to the guys that helped out in our CoD run and hopefully we''ll make another run in another game before too long.

    Recent Events
Posted On: August 29, 2005 By: Kilmer
Empath has returned to CAL-I and started off with a less than favorable record thus far due to a number of reasons, but won''t be discussed here. A couple of new additions to the team in hopes of boosting some activity in bringing on Element and LiveStrong back on board. After a few blowouts and tough losses, we''re finally starting to see some activity and hopefully looking to make a turn around for the second half of the season. We lost a nail biter to our buds over at Paradox (now 5-1) in OT last night which featured a number of clutch situations. GL to them the rest of the season and look for things to turn around for the Empath crew.

    Week in Recap
Posted On: February 28, 2005 By: Kilmer
This past week featured a number of events. Thursday we took on Pandemic and ended up not being able to pull off the comeback and losing 11-9. Sunday night we battled Fivestar, but were unable to seal the deal and allowed them to comeback and win 11-9 as well. These were tough losses as it marks the 3rd time we've lost 11-9 to top of the line teams. Sunday afternoon Cutthroat and Kilmer participated in the TXGF Lan in Dallas taking home the first place prize with Team Gamewyze. Though the competition wasn't very stiff, we still had a good time and all got new motherboards. Only one week remaining in CAL as we prepare for our final matches on Harbor.

    Texas Gaming Festival
Posted On: February 25, 2005 By: Kilmer
This weekend Empath's own Cutthroat and Kilmer will be competing in the Texas Gaming Festival in the CoD LAN Tourney representing the Gamewyze LAN Center. The first and second place teams will receive Athlon 64 motherboards. Ability, Torque, and Stryka will be joining us as the tournament starts on Sunday afternoon. If you live in the Dallas area then come on down and join the fun, more info can be found here.

    A Long Week
Posted On: February 21, 2005 By: Kilmer
Another long week of play has commenced as Empath fell to both coL and LoT. Rosters also locked this week as we made the final addition picking up cajual, an old school CoD player. We hope to finish up strong in our last two weeks of play on Neuville and Harbor. Stop by #empath for upcoming scorebots and such.

    Empath Prevails

After a rough start on Dawnville early in the week vs Xeno, the gang regrouped and tried some new things that ended up paying off in the end in our 2nd match of the week vs id. Was a very intense overtime match and Ethix's demo can be found in the media section where he led the team in kills. GG's

I apologize for the downtime of the website as of late. We had some difficulties with our webhost, but are now back up and running and hope to have everything back up to speed soon enough. If you registered on the forums within the last couple of weeks then you may need to register again as we didn't have a recent backup file and lost some new users. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this should be the last of the problems.

    U5 Gets It Done
Posted On: January 16, 2005 By: Kilmer
Empath suffered it's first loss tonight in a hard fought match against the highly touted United5 squad. A close game was played and in the end U5 pulled it out in 11-9 fashion. GG's to the guys and we look forward to our next match.

    Empath Wins First CAL-I Match
Posted On: January 14, 2005 By: Kilmer
In a hard fought match last night, Empath defeated Wyze 11-9. GG's to the Wyze guys and GJ to the Empath squad for bringing home our first match with a victory.
